There is a U in US: Refugee Commemoration Ceremony

This event was pretty darn cool! This was a team up with Lighthouse Charities again. They along with other partners put together this ceremony to commemorate refugees who have succeeded this school year academically, in sports, and in the community. It was amazing to see how many people were there. There were a ton of honorees, but even members of the Clark County School District were there to interpret and represent various schools. My alma mater Valley High School was represented well as a couple of students were honored. This was the first event of it’s kind in the Las Vegas Valley. I look forward to being there in the future as many more of these events take place! There were many who spoke and delivered messages of hope and perseverance to the refugees which were very inspiring to me. I am so grateful I was able to be apart of this event! Here are a couple of pictures,
